RS200
Adrenaline packed racing and a full-on social scene - the RS200 is one of the most popular two person sailing dinghies. Perfect for moderate weight teams, it’s a winner with mixed crews, young sailors and families – at clubs, championships and on the RS open meeting circuit. Strict one-design rules keep the competition tight and the budget in control. So it’s all about exciting sailing and a good time ashore. This Class attracts rock stars and newcomers like no other.
RS 200 Racing at Frensham
The RS200 is the newest approved one-design class at Frensham with around 30 boats racing regularly. From National Champions to those just learning – we have a vast array of abilities in the RS200 class and warmly welcome newcomers and more experienced alike.
The class is a key pathway to keep teenagers engaged in sailing at the Club as they progress from the junior and youth classes.
Currently RS200s race within the “K-Class” and general handicap races on Sundays.
National and Local Events
The RS200 Frensham open forms part of the SEAS (South Eastern Area Series) circuit. There is a National Championship held yearly that attracts upwards of 100 boats and the racing is of an extremely high level – as are the parties!
