A CLUB LEGEND

Sunday 29th June saw the Enterprise Fleet and friends from Sailability celebrate Ted Bonner’s BIG Birthday!! (We think a 9 and a 0 are involved!)

Ted has for many years been a huge supporter of the club and was instrumental in setting up the club’s Sailability programme – putting in hours of work and support to help it become the huge success it is today.

Not only is Ted an example to all, he is a top sailor. Sailing his Enterprise for many years at Open Meetings around the country often with Alan Dance the two helms have shown the way for classy and winning sailing. Ted has been “the man to beat” in the Enterprise Fleet for many years now, as evidenced by the number of times his name appears as 1st prize “winner” on all the Enterprise Series Cups!

In recognition of the respect in which he is held, Ted was presented with a selection of fine wines, a bottle of The Singleton Single Malt Scotch and a card signed by everyone. With over 25 in attendance on a lovely sunny day 6 Ents had a fun relaxed race and escorted Ted and his long -time crew, Andy Majury, as they crossed the finish line in his familiar first place!

There was plenty of cake to go round. Here’s to many more Ted and thank you for inspiring the fleet!
