Youth Team Racing

The Frensham youth fleets held an excellent day of team racing on Saturday 7th June. 9 teams of two sailors completed 35 races followed by semi finals and a final. Ably assisted in jury and committee boats by “ex-youth” volunteers, the sailors from the Tera, Cadet, Feva and ILCA groups pitched their two boat teams against each other in neutral and evenly matched craft - the club Toppers. Smart tactics and rapid changeovers ensured smooth running throughout the day. Maisie and Charlotte come out on top of the heats but we’re unable to convert the semi final, beaten by Ava and Annabel. The two boats tied for second place played off in the other semi final with Olivia and Charlie coming through against Mim and Joe. The final was a close race but Ava and Annabel came through to win overall. Well done to everyone; sailors, parents and helpers, and a big thanks to the members for postponing their afternoon race.
